This place was a lot of fun to visit. The presidents of the church part of the museum was my favorite. They had a lot of neat pieces set out and we learned a lot.
I always enjoy this museum. It is targeted to the the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They have a great store with interesting things. In front of the museum is a cabin built and decorated in pioneer style. There are rotating exhibits on the second floor. My favorite is when they display art from their competition. I have found several pieces that eventually I have purchased. Whenever I am in Salt Lake I make an effort to visit this museum.
Awesomely fun place to go and learn about your family. The geneology library resources are ginormous! But the presentation is not dry and dull. They make it fun for kids And adults! Totally recommend a visit when you are in Salt Lake City!
This museum did an awesome job at catering to adults and children at the same time. Very very well done. I'm not a big museum person, but really enjoyed my time here! As did my kids, ranging from 2 years old to 12 years old.
What a great experience! We got to see some early Church history items including: original Book of Mormon manuscripts, the original printing press, the box the gold plates were thought to have been stored in, a replica of Liberty Jail, and much more. You HAVE to take time to see the First Vision video. It was amazing!
