There are three problems with the place. The first and biggest problem is the price. The peach pastry that I mentioned is a bit over $5 it's all by itself. If you buy a box of pastries for a group you'll be in over fifty bucks. The restaurant is also expensive and is usually quite crowded. The parking is difficult. All in all a good place to visit from time to time for the experience and for the wonderful pastries, but you probably won't make a habit of it unless you're very wealthy.

Known for their desserts, but entrees and small plates are great too. Love the atmosphere: warm, lively, and casual but still nice. Also like that they're open relatively late. Perfect stop for a bite after a show downtown.

This is a great little place for dinner (however it is always very crowded). But if you're not up for saying for dinner they also have wonderful baked goods you can get to go. We like them so much we go more often for the baked good than the dinner.

Probably THE great bakery in SLC! There are others that are also well above average but they don't have the diversity and variety that Gourmandise always pulls off. The meals are closer to a 4 but are still great. The bakery is superb!

I love this place. I've been here multiple times. Food is always excellent. Or server today (Jesse) may as well not have been there. My friend tried to make eye contact with him ten times in the 10-15 mins we sat there waiting for a menu after sitting. He could have been on another planet. They had perhaps one third of the tables occupied. The other server (female) had to point out we needed service. (She seemed very attentive and on top off her customers.) We received menus covered in syrup. We had to ask a second time for our drinks after eventually placing our order. Food was lovely but my blood pressure went up because if I'm going to eat out, especially for breakfast which I love to make at home, I shouldn't have to engage a Damn tractor beam just to get a waiter to bring me a bleep bleep water.

This is also a restaurant with some good options.

I love the pastries at the shop. Probably the best bakery in the state. Try a peach, which is a pastry in the shape of a peach with a cream filling, really good! This is a great place to buy a treat for someone special.
