I was greeted when I arrived and was asked if they could help me find anything. I had something to eat at the Starbucks. The broccoli and cheese quiche was very good. The staff was very friendly and efficient.
Awful experience here with the Café. My order was simple enough - a Grande dark roast coffee and a blueberry muffin. The coffee was weak but the line was long (otherwise I would have asked for an Americano), so I went to sip it and eat my muffin. the entire top of the muffin slid off and underneath was just a sludge of undercooked batter. I went to complain and was told to stand in line again. Once I get to the register - which I estimate will be in another 10-15 minutes - I intend to return both items. I myself will NOT return.
Rude staff. I was waiting for my partner to use the restroom when a female staff member barged into the male restroom, yelled to see if anyone was there, and accused him of shutting a door that he didn't prop open. She turned around and walked toward me, made a rude comment to me about how he couldn't read, then left.
I get my morning coffee here almost every day! I will say that the few times I've been actually shopping for books it's tricky to find an associate to help you. But on the cafe side I'm always very satisfied, their baristas are always polite and quick.
Barnes and Noble is great, the Starbucks was awful. We waited 23 minutes, while it was dead, for a vanilla bean frap. When we complained they blamed some other fictional person. The frap was quite chunky and under blended. Barnes and noble should definitely get on their case because it is hurting their ratings. Extremely bad service. I'll go to City Creek next time
Hey Barnes & Noble - is it common practice to have shouting matches with your guests while they're using the restroom? Is it acceptable for your employees to make comments to patrons about being illiterate even though they are clearly shopping in a bookstore? And why the hell do you want public restroom doors open?
