Pathetic. The fact that this organization supports “Officer” Payne despite clear evidence that he overstepped his bounds is pathetic. The oath to protect and serve goes for all police officers who don the uniform and badge. Respecting everyone is paramount and the detective did nothing of the sort and quite the opposite. He disrespected her decision and the bylaws of the hospital not to mention the ethics of the healthcare industry. He did all of this because of his ignorance and his anger. While everyone has a bad day and I am certainly not one to say I haven’t made mistakes, the fact that no other officer stepped in to defuse the situation regardless of their ‘rank’ is why the public opinion of police officers has declined. To further this decline are organizations who support their members who are clearly in the wrong. To have them say they are pariahs?!?? Your actions speak to why YOU are the outcasts. This was brought on by self...not others. This upstanding nurse not only stood up for her patient, she stood up for her hospital and society as a whole. One of the greatest wrongs done to the public has been by the ‘brotherhood’ of police officers. It has allowed their power in number (unions) to be utilized in ways that are unsafe to the law abiding citizen. They always stand up for one another through every mistake. Planting evidence, blatant lying, etc. to protect one another’s career even at the expense of justice. It runs so deep in departments across the country from the top to the bottom. The DNA evidence that has freed THOUSANDS of murder suspects, the smartphone footage that shows lies about what really happened is being seen countless times across the country. This footage and other evidence clearly contradicts the stories of ‘pariah’ officers and their supporting superiors at the scene of these ‘crimes’. The killing of innocent people and the abuse of power is finally being revealed by body cams and cell phones. DO THE RIGHT THING AND TELL THE TRUTH. Stop supporting each other in the wrong way. Get rid of the A-hole cops on the street and do what’s right. Stop supporting the criminals within your own organization. I understand that being a law inforcement officer is difficult. I come from a family of them. My father as a homicide detective for 20 years pulled his gun one time and he put it back in the holster without shooting one bullet. He decompressed situations by talking to people and connecting with his citizens. He protected and served. He did the right thing. He never invited a fight or strangled a guy to death for selling cigarettes on the street of NYC. He never shot a guy in the back and planted his taser on him because he wanted to shoot someone. He never walked in front of a car and shot through the window because he was trying to ‘use his car as a weapon’. The only way for law enforcement to get back in the good graces of society is for the good officers to stop supporting the turds and start being good people. Stop shooting targets all day. Stop buying magazines like guns and ammo. Stop trying to figure out a way to oppress and start being peace officers again. So many times I hear that you only hear about the few bad seeds. The problem is that the brotherhood allows the bad seeds to stick around. The brotherhood is bringing down the good officers. That’s what makes the good guys not so good. That’s what angers society. Over and over we as a society are wronged. Even with proof these bad seeds are supported by the good ones and that breeds discontent. If a peace officer does something wrong, he should be outed for it just like the rest of society. You must take responsibility for your own actions. The body cam images regarding this upstanding nurse shows the whole story. That’s why this union didn’t want it released. That’s why unions do not want body cams. Unfortunately unions have taken the stance of the bad seeds which makes them a bad seed. One star only because I can’t give zero.

Jeff Payne needs to be arrested for assault. Cops wonder why everyone hates them. Enforce the laws on Jeff Payne like you would against an average citizen. People get arrested for not paying parking tickets yet this VIOLENT THUG walks free. Gross.

Stupid and useless... protecting those that break the law they sworn to uphold. That makes you just as bad. But hey, as long as you get paid right? Idiots!

Detective Jeff Payne didn’t have a warrant and the patient wasn’t conscious, so he couldn’t give consent. Without that, the detective was barred from collecting blood samples — not just by hospital policy, but by basic Constitutional Law. The head nurse was restrained when she told the detective he wasn’t allowed to draw blood from a badly injured patient

Rough up a nurse and somehow make it her fault. Embarrassing and totally expected. Police break the law and then fellow police circle the wagons.
