Lots of hidden fees - like we pay their property tax through our contract - in addition, terrible communication and low business ethics. I am in a contract and found this out the hard way, DON'T SIGN A CONTRACT! I will NEVER work with this company again. Good business owners keep clients for the long-term and this company makes me want to RUN FAR from them.
BAD, BAD, BAD experience. I will retract this post if some from marlin will fix this mess and honor the original agreement.
My company short-term financed 2 pieces of equipment with Marlin Business Bank. The entire process from day one was awkward at best. First off, the check for the equipment was sent to the wrong company. That was really scary. Second, they have the worst customer service available in the market. They don't return calls and are unable to answer simple questions. There are so many other options out there and I highly recommend you go elsewhere. Also, watch your statement for bogus charges. I'll do some research, as I'm certain this company is under investigation.
Lots of late fees even though you pay on time. Send your check out at least 2 weeks before the due date or every month they'll run your payment 1 day late. I started sending my payments with USPS first class as a "parcel" so I could get a tracking number. They received my payment on the 10th, and it didn't post to my account until the 16th. Payment was due on the 15th so $120 worth of late fees. What a joke. And good luck trying to set up automatic payments.
Buyer beware. Bait and switch. I asked for an 18 month lease , the agent and I talked on the phone several times to go over the numbers etc. Had the payment figured out and everything ready to go. Agent tells me he will email the documents so I can e-sign the contract. Six months into the deal I discover my balance has not gone down. To be exact I still owed 98 % of the original balance because some one changed the lease to 24 months. So I have paid these jokers an extra $2600 for not thoroughly reading the e-sign contract. When I called them on it, customer service was so rude all the lady said to me was " Didn't you read the contract?"
I explained to her that I had the original email with all the different options for monthly payments etc, she told me that was irrelevant. I asked for the agent that wrote the lease and asked him what went wrong, he told me there was an issue with my credit which is also a lie and I called him on it.
