Optum Bank is another tentacle of the United Health Group Corporation. Anyone with an HSA account at Optum should be weary of the service fees and other methods they use to hold on to your money.
Horrible customer service. They don't not give clear information on their fee schedules nor and additional are not transparent on their website. They are the classic go round and round and read their "policies" which are not on the website. I CANNOT WAIT TO MOVE MY MONEY OUT OF THIS PLACE. AVOID THESE CLOWNS IF YOU CAN.
I will try to keep this short. They had a 1 dollar monthly service fee that whittled me down to -4 dollars. I called them to cancel the account and pay the balance. They waived the balance and cancelled the account with no fuss. I was ready for a fight I was happily surprised with the results.
All I was trying to do was get some customer support setting up my initial account with Optum Bank HSA after my work switched to them. I took 2 hours and 8 transfers and a ton of idiots who 'cant see an account for me', 'my department doesn't do this', 'let me transfer you to another automated system (where none of the options fit).' I still have no resolution, can't access my account, and already dislike this company immensely.
Awful customer service. Was no help when my HSA declined, then when I paid out of my checking account and the money actually went through...could offer me no proof. Customer service agent was sarcastic with no empathy.
