This evening's entertainment was the California Celts. Eye and ear catching. Started with a parade through the crowd and tables. Fine music it was and is.
Piper Down has a delicious brunch with dollar mimosas, as well as many vegan and vegetarian options. They also have great burgers and sandwiches! Their rooftop patio is great in nice weather, and the covered patio offers a fire pit for colder evenings.
Just ordered the Cobb Salad to go for my lunch. AMAZING. Best cobb in the valley and I have no idea how they did that! Will definitely return for lunch, but will most likely stay to eat and enjoy a shot or two while I am there next time.
Was visiting from Vegas and wanted to grab a drink and some quick food late at night. I sat with my sister and we were initially greeted and served drinks. Our friend sat down with us less than two minutes after we seated, and was absolutely never acknowledged by any of the four people behind the bar, which outnumbered guests at this point. We had to flag down anyone someone to try and order food. The barback told us he couldn't take our order, so I asked him to get someone who could. We ordered one item and the bartender walked away, which was not our entire order. So we literally had to yell for him so we could finish. Food came out quickly with the two drinks we had empty, and they just dropped it off without saying anything and walked away. We had no words said to us for 25 minutes. They cleared plates without even making eye contact. And finally after having empty drinks and finished all the food over 15 minutes prior , we were asked how we were doing. I got the check and left. I have been a server for years, and I usually give people the benefit of the doubt and let a lot slide. I did too, this time. I still tipped definitely over an appropriate amount which I regret. There was no basic service given to us. To top it off, the friend that came two minutes after was NEVER even offered a drink. Good luck with this place.

Piper Down reminds me of taverns in Belgium. Great array of beers and ales. Had their Irish Steak Dinner, a step up from Irish Stew but along the same line; savory gravy over vegetables on a layer of mash potatoes. It was filling and tasty.
I've been going here years for pub quiz. It is always a great time and the service is great. I feel their menu is always expanding and for those who are vegan they offer a large variety of options. Any of the restraunts that are owned by this group are great: ice haus, funk n dive
