Three visits with him telling me my eye is fine, then I have a retinal detachment. If only he'd checked more thoroughly and found the tear the Drs at the Moran saw. He's always in too much of a hurry. I could have gone blind. When the detachment happened, I went to the ER but called him first. Two tries to get through. Finally a call back. He's out of the country! Not much good to me on call OUT of the COUNTRY!
I had cataract surgery on my right eye. Dr. Wapner seems to be a reasonably skilled surgeon based on the final results. His staff were efficient, helpful and polite. However, I will go to a different eye clinic for future work. Following surgery, I had considerable cloudiness in my right eye. I later learned that the cloudiness is not uncommon and is often referred to as 'secondary cataracts'. It was eventually cleared up with a quick procedure in his office called a YAG laser capsulotomy. When I initially reported the cloudiness in my right eye, Dr. Wapner insisted that either my expectations for improved vision were unrealistic or I was wearing my glasses incorrectly on my nose! After the second follow-up visit, he finally mentioned that a YAG capsulotomy could likely clear-up the problem. He was initially so defensive of his own skills that he seemed unable to carefully listen to a patient and diagnose the problem. I'll give him credit for eventually diagnosing and correcting the problem. However, I'll go elsewhere next time.
Dr Wapner is a phenomenal doctor. I recently went to him for lasik and had a great experience. He and his entire staff had great bedside manners. They were extremely thorough about what to expect and continually were talking to me through the surgery about what was coming next. He calmed all my nerves and continually checked my comfort level.
My surgery went perfectly and I am so content with my perfect vision. I highly recommend dr Wapner and his whole team.
