went in tonight just a couple minutes before close & was so pleased with how friendly everyone was with it being so close to closing time. i was helped by Allie & i have never been so satisfied with service, she was so patient and easy to talk to! she rocks! :)
Having said that, I do like these as gifts. There is more meaning than simply a ruby, sapphire, or diamond.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Clean store. I have only ever bought from Alex and Ani online, but had a very enjoyable in-store experience. It was nice being able to try all of their different jewelry on and learn stories behind some of the pieces. My jewelry from Alex and Ani has held up nicely since I've had them, which has been about a year of constant wear. I always get compliments on anything I buy from Alex and Ani.
It also rubs me the wrong way that they seem to be buying into to the latest culture trend of being oblivious to the value of fathers. They have products for every woman's role: aunt, mom, grandma, sister. But they have very few (one?) product that is aimed at a man giving the gift to his daughter or wife.
I work in the energy industry. I find the following marketing to be disingenuous and flat out bogus:
I love going into Alex and Ani. The staff is always great, the store is always clean and smells wonderful. However, this last visit I had I was really bummed to find out that I could not use a e-gift card I had been gifted. Those are only to be used online, which is a real bummer because it takes away the fun of going into the store, reading the meaning cards and browsing at all the beautiful jewelry.

What 'energy' and what 'technology' are you referring to specifically? I'm very surprised anyone believes this crap. It's disrespectful to intelligent customers.
The girls in the store are so sweet and friendly. Love coming in and shopping here.
