Lady at the counter was super nice about us making adjustments so we could make the food vegan. Lots of food for a good price too.
I ordered here at around 7:10pm on 10.18.7 from the UberEATS app. It was the worst experience ever, the food was absolutely disgusting. I don't know if it was just because I ordered late, or their food is just horrible. This is in no way a review about UberEATS solely Golden Pearl. I ordered General Tso's Chicken and Kung Pao Chicken, both tasted like they were cooked separately from the sauce, the chicken itself had no flavor or salt. It was like they put the sauce on after the chicken was done cooking, it didn't sit well with my stomach. Never will I ever order from here again. Absolutely horrid, I wish they would have just stay close, out of business. It's the way they like it.
The guy that runs the place now is nice. He mentioned they raised their prices slightly because they are now using higher quality ingredients, and it's totally worth it. The prices are still reasonable, and they have a ton of lunch specials for under $7. And those lunch specials are very good-sized.
I really want more people to try this place so that they can grow. Ordered close to their closing time, they were more than happy to deliver to my house, 25 minute estimate, that they beat. Both people I spoke with were real chill, food was hot at my door. which is nice when you got a good buzz and you need dank food,. Everything was savory, and well prepared. Honestly better than a some of sit down restaurants I have been too. The price is absolutely unbeatable too. Gen taos chicken rice, side order of ham fried rice, and an order of pot stickers was 25 dollars. More than happy to hand over a 10 dollar tip since its going to take me days to eat this. Also Im a slob thats why theres no pot stickers in the pic... sry not sry
I went here a couple times years ago and didn't like the food. There isn't a lot of food variety around here (near my work) so I decided to give them another try recently and I'm glad I did.
They make the food to order, so if you're on the go it's a good idea to call ahead.
The food is okay ... I guess you get what you pay for. The vegetable dishes were decent. But some of the dishes are just oddly unlike what you're used to for American Chinese food. The paper wrapped chicken wasn't cooked in the foil... it was cooked (until it was super dry) and then placed in foil. The cream cheese wontons were spicy for some reason, and the General Tso's chicken wasn't spicy at all. It's cheap, but I'm not sure who they're aiming for.
