Started great and went right down hill...
Just got off the phone with them. After being transferred to the front, I heard someone pick up the phone then hang up on me. I realize that technology like telephones can be really hard to understand but you would think Microsoft might hire someone capable of picking up a phone - interview a 6 year old or two and you'll have your next rising star at the City Creek Microsoft Store.
In end I said please just give me my money back...
Having employees not even ask for clarification, be able to understand what you are saying, or being bothered to check any information whatsoever regarding the event and its participants gives the impression that your store doesn't really care about running the event properly. If so, please tell the organization that you aren't interested so that they can find another location that does. It'll make things easier for everyone.
I went back to store to sort stuff out. Lots of accusations at me. General lack of uncaring and to top it off lady swiped the receipt off my phone and made it all ten times worse.
I also originally intended to spend some time during the event to make some purchases at the store, but I don't see why I would do any business in a store that clearly doesn't value it. I was treated as though I didn't exist, with employees lounging around and chatting with one another and then turning around and walking away when I entered the store or whenever I approached them. I shouldn't have to literally chase people down just to ask questions and be answered rudely like I'm bothering them. Even just simple eye contact would be appreciated.
Nice lady on Friday showed my girls us the VR goggles and paint programs. Really nice. I thought I would buy an Xbox live gift card for all the fun.
For all the XBOX and Microsoft PC lovers out there. It's really organized and the people and staff that work there are really awesome and nice. They will repair and help your PC issues out. I've trusted then with 4 different devices for the last 2-3 years.
Lady forgot to activate card; and then the trouble begins...
I ended up ordering what I wanted from their online store but I wanted to make sure it was really wanted so I walked inside. The young man who helped me was happy to give me recommendations even after I had made it clear that I wasn't going to buy anything in store. He really went above and beyond! I purchased a refurbished Surface Pro 2 (this was some time ago) and to this day I am happy with my purchase. I was very happy that the person helping me knew his stuff it was a lot of help.
If you are going to host an event within your store, please ensure that your employees know what they are doing. I was turned away from an event that I was registered to attend, and explicitly told that I could not participate in it, when I actually could and eventually did. I had to return again after having left thinking I was the one who had made some mistake instead of the store employees and event hosts, narrowly avoiding missing the event and causing complications. It would've been fine if it was just a misunderstanding that was eventually worked out, but they made absolutely no effort to do so and left it to me to figure out that they were wrong.
