This review is purely based on my interaction or lack thereof with agent Mackenzie. Went in to get a membership, I went in knowing which one I wanted. All she did was put my information in, printed my receipt and temporary ID card and briefly mentioned the offer for the Home Depot gift card if I let them do an insurance quote. I responded sure but I'm really happy with my current insurance, she did not proceed so no gift card. I was not given a brochure detailing my new benefits without having to ask for it. When buying something like this, it's nice for the agent to go over all the options even if someone knows which plan they want, that individual may have missed something or read something wrong. I left feeling as though she just wanted to hit another sale towards her possible sales goal (I have no clue if they sales numbers to hit or not).
If there was a 1/2-star option, I'd pick that. In January, when closing on a new home purchase, it took several phone calls to get a homeowner's policy drafted that would suit my new townhouse and appease the lender. I made several calls, using the 800 number. A few months after closing, I start getting 'notice of cancellation' letters in the mail. For 4 different homeowners policies. One was for the policy that was paid for at closing! After several phone calls to AAA and getting no where on the phone, I go to the AAA office in person. The agent assigned to me, Hugh, was quite arrogant. He said that he cancelled all of the 'extra' policies. I had the policy that was paid for at closing in hand, and he confirmed that he had cancelled that one, too. During our conversation, he disclosed that he selected another (the most expensive) policy for my home and communicated with the lender directly in my stead to set it up. When I expressed my displeasure about this, he countered with "Well, it is the policy I'd want for my home." Super. This isn't your home! So, we down-graded to the policy that fit my home the best. He told me that AAA would pay my annual membership fee to compensate me for my troubles. Fast forward to August. I just got a 'notice of premium due' for a homeowners policy. The address of the covered property is my old home. The policy number is different than the policy I have (hopefully) on my townhouse. The next day, my membership fee bill arrived. Time to shop for another insurance company!
HORRIBLE! The perfect time to have amazing customer service is when a customer actually was not at fault for car accident so the other insurance company has to pay for everything. I do not hardly ever give reviews but this was just that bad! My insurance company AAA dropped the ball on my claim. When called to complain their "Escalations specialist" admitted multiple times in our call that AAA dropped the ball on my claim. When asked for compensation (anything) they politely denied saying AAA can't afford to compensate. HAHAHA THIS MADE ME LAUGH! Following day same escalations person calls me back to try and smooth things over I guess by denying she ever admitted AAA dropped the ball. When I asked for them to pull the recording... conveniently that call was not recorded. I asked to speak to her manager "Brian" he was not available so gave me his number. I called and left voicemails for him only to never get a call back. Meanwhile Progressive who was the other drivers insurance (and the one that has to pay for everything) has been over and beyond amazing to me. When this is all said and done I am pretty sure Progressive will be the one earning my business for insurance. Unless by some MIRACLE Triple A steps it up and actually does something about their neglect!!!
These guys have treated me great. Worth the money for membership. A couple of tows or using the many discounts make this a no brainer
It has fairly large AAA office and many staffs. However, staffs are not friendly.
