I've been a global member for 4 years now and have traveled the world. I absolutely love all the places i am able to go for such a reasonable price. Their customer service is amazing and always are willing to go the extra mile to help me with extra travel plans. I'd highly recommend them to anyone.
Update- They worked with us and paid for the upgrade which included a little nicer hotel in Manhattan, and better flights so we no have 2 full days in New York. I'm still disappointed in them misrepresenting the trip in the presentation. If we had known that it would be an "Economy Trip".
We sat through presentation nearly 2 years ago. We had to turn them down because the timing to make such a large purchase was not right for our family situation. They promised us a vacation at one of THEIR resorts as a result of coming in. We started receiving paper work from a Casablanca Express (3rd party trip organizer...) We paid the necessary tax and a small deposit. They sent us 3-4 forms that we had to fill out and quickly return or everything would be voided. We jumped through all of the hoops and finally had plans to leave to New York. We were excited and purchased tickets to see a Broadway and made other such plans... It would be a 3 day trip. (Tuesday- Thursday). They called us today to finalize our itinerary. They said we would be leaving late in the evening on Tuesday and would return EARLY in the morning on Thursday. The best part is that they booked us into an ECONOLODGE (in the Bronx)..... It blew my mind. That is NOT what was explained to us in the presentation. They then offered us an "upgrade" if we wanted to pay another $600.... or they could refund us any money we had sent them and not go on the trip. Absolute joke!! I have a call into Global Travel Network who are trying to rectify this. If they can hold true to what was explained to us, I may be willing to update this post...
As for air fare was disappointed that I got prices within $5.00 of Global through Expedia and booked a rental car through Expedia also for half the price that Global could get me. I thought Global was supposed to be a one stop shopping with the best rates. Also when we inquired about weekend getaway for the weekly fee they told use if we didn't have stars to use we were not eligible to receive the offer. This was not how we were told when we talked to sales agents.
This company is a vacation vehicle. It is a pretty good deal. It costs about 10,000 dollars once to join the program, then it costs 385 dollars each year that you go on vacation. Each vacation in a year is 189 dollars. Don't go unless you are willing to pay 10000 dollars. They only cover the place. Otherwise the price goes up for subsequent visits.
As a member of twelve years, I have been on over 30 vacations with Global Travel. I have traveled to many places including Kauai, Australia, and New Zealand with this program. I have attended numerous time share presentations, and I feel Global Travel is affordable and flexible. I started with two stars or one peak week in 2004 and I now own five stars in 2016. Most people are attending these presentations for the free gifts, which creates a lot of unhappy campers. If you are truly looking for a good vacation club, however, I would definitely recommend Global Travel.
Loved the place we stayed at Hawaiian Princess Time Share Owners Association. Great deal through Global Travel.
