I would absolutely NOT use this car rental place! They should not even get one star! I rate them a ZERO! My sister rented a car with car seats from them. The infant car seat was faulty. While my sister was driving, the baby sat completely upright because the strap was broken. Luckily my sister was able to see this before the baby got hurt! When she called Thrifty, they said she needed to bring the car seat back to the rental place an hour away to exchange it. She told them she wasn't going to put her baby back into a faulty car seat to return it. They told her to find someone to watch her kid while she returns it. Hello?! She is out of town renting a car with car seats! Duh! Who is she supposed to have watch the baby? They basically just told her to figure it out. I bet they will even try to reuse this junk car seat! Don't trust Thrifty with your precious babies! And if for some reason you decide to use them, TRIPLE CHECK YOUR CAR SEATS BEFORE YOU USE THEM! Even if they look okay, they may not be!!!
Dishonest, scheming, devious, underhanded, conniving, deceitful, fraud, misleading... all these words just don't seem to do these crooks justice. Rented a car and took it on a toll road with those automatic scanners. I'm happy to pay the tolls, but Thrifty seems to think its OK to tack on $15 each time you drive by a scanner. If you pay a $2 toll, guess what? Thrifty thinks they can add a $15 "because we can" charge. I would rather walk than EVER rent from Thrifty again. (anywhere, not just in SLC)
HEARTLESS - If there were a negative 10 rating that is what I would give.
Two world: really bad
NEVER AGAIN-
I was not feeling well and my girlfriend drove me back to the airport to return the rental . The attendant told her to leave the keys in the car. What she did not realize is that my keys FOB $200 and my medication case were attached to the keys. We got to the gate and realized what had happened. Raced back to the lot and explained what happened, told them I need to take medication. They said well they just drove the car off to another lot to clean it. So best to call later. Had to get on my flight . they were no help. Well I filled out a report and have been calling for a month now and no one will help. The keys are listed on the website as found but no one to help. Now I have been told they are not responsible after 30 days.
Then when I turn in the vehicle at the end, it makes sense now. They charge for 9.99 per gallon when they don't see a full tank!!!
This is complete scam and don't ever book with this company again. It is not worthy of your money and time, or whatsoever. Business this dishonest should not be allowed to stay in the competition at all.
My bad rental experience does not stop here. During the trip, I found the vehicle does not completely fuel to full tank when the gas pump clips off. This was annoying as when you go on road trip you don't what that constant stop for gas because of you can't fuel 100% up your tank.
One word: bad
Our experience with Thrifty was good. Our check in was fast, the agent was friendly and gave us a map with instructions on how to reach our destination. The car was a Kia which drove well and had excellent gas mileage.
Booked online and arrived on time. Spent a few extra dollar wanting to book a standard size SUV to go about my grand teton trip, only to find that a compact size SUV was waiting for me on the parking spot. I took it anyway because I don't know anything about Buick and thought it might be what I have booked plus I don't have time to argue under a tight vacation schedule.
